Last year Samsung launched its new Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, the first smartphone with a curved screen. In this case, the right side was the bottom section. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the Galaxy S6 Edge + already had the two curved sides, but there would be a new Samsung smartphone, whose curved section would be the lower one.
New curved screen
Curved screens in Samsung smartphones are no longer news, since no less than three different phones with curved screens have already been launched. In fact, what we are talking about as a novelty are not the curved screens, but the folding screens, because it seems that Samsung could launch a mobile with a folding screen next year. However, curved screens will continue to be present in Samsung mobiles, and next year a new smartphone with a curved screen could arrive, a new Samsung Galaxy Edge, something different from those already launched, since the curved section would be the lower section of the screen, as can be seen in the image with which Samsung has registered the patent.
This screen with the curved bottom section could be more useful than the screens with the curved side sections, and it would be very similar to the second screen that the LG V10 has. In fact, in the case of an AMOLED screen, it could be always on, with notifications or shortcuts to applications. Actually, its function would be very similar to that of the curved screen of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge +, although the truth is that the lower section could be more useful. In any case, it is simply a modification on a technology that Samsung already has, and with which they could be able to launch different mobiles next year. Regarding the phones launched in 2015, it must be said that there is little difference between the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge +, especially for less expert users. However, with one more variant in curved screen mobiles, Samsung could manage to offer different smartphones to users.
