This is the new / old Nokia Normandy with Android

El N, a smartphone that has not reached the market, but that never will. It is neither more nor less than the smartphone of the Finnish company with an Android operating system that it was working on before reaching a purchase agreement with Microsoft. Now, we know what the smartphone is like.

It has been @evleaks who has shared a photograph of the new smartphone that, in reality, is not too surprising, although it does not look much like what a smartphone would be with the Mountain View operating system. However, it allows us to know what Nokia was going to launch into the smartphone market to compete with high-level brands that manufacture Android terminals. What seems clear when looking at the image is that it would not have had the three buttons that today are already classic on Android smartphones, since it only seems to have a touch button, and it is the back button.

On the other hand, it seems that the smartphone is really simple, having opted for minimalism, with only three buttons, one that would be the power button, and the other two that would be the volume buttons. The camera and the company logo would be the only two elements that would appear on the rear case of the terminal.

And from the image we can say that most likely it was not a high-end smartphone, since the bezel is too wide to have a very large screen. The new Nokia Normandy, which would probably have changed its name before hitting the market, would be available in six different colors: red, green, yellow, white, blue, and black. Probably the company was creating an Android smartphone that was inexpensive, eye-catching, bearing the Nokia name, and allowing it to test its success before launching a wider variety of smartphones. Be that as it may, it is likely that a Nokia smartphone with Android will never be launched, unless the company eventually did not become part of Microsoft.
