Umeox 5, the thinnest terminal in the world with 5,6 millimeters

The battle of smartphones to hang the medal for the slimmest in the world continues. Huawei already tried it with the Huawei Ascend P2, which was presented to the market with its 8,4 millimeters thick, a title that would be disputed with the Alcatel One Touch iDol Ultra, who managed to reduce its thinness to 6,45 millimeters, all a record. Now it is a Chinese firm that wants to try with a new terminal, the Umeox X5 that will wear 5,6 mm.

It seems that this unknown Asian firm wants to snatch Huawei its next attempt to get on the podium of the slimmest. On June 18, Huawei would be presenting in London the terminal that it has been preparing for such a feat in 6,2 mm, Huawei Ascend P6 (or Huawei P6-U06). Of course, if the Umeox X5 and its 5,6 millimeters are a reality, the Taiwanese will once again fall on their faces in their attempt to lead this aspect of smartphone design.

The design of smartphones tends to dress under two well differentiated premises: extreme thinness and the large screen that allows us to enjoy any multimedia experience anywhere and in the lightest way possible, without disturbing our pocket. Alcatel was the first to want to show off its finesse with its OneTouch iDol Ultra that would get to the top of the podium of the slimmest in the market during the last CES in Las Vegas presenting 6,45 mm.

Huawei is behind, (since it had already tried without success with the Ascend P2, and will try again with the P6) but Oppo also. Some time ago the news reached us that it would manufacture the Oppo Find 2, a smartphone that would be able to present a thinness of 6,13 milímetros. With which the league would be this way:

Umeox 5: 5,6 mm

Oppo Find 2: 6,13 millimeters

Huawei Ascend P6: 6,2 millimeters

Alcatel One Touch iDol Ultra: 6,45 millimeters

With which we see that in recent months, since Alcatel won the medal in January at CES in Las Vegas, the medal has been taken from it up to four times, or at least, that is how it will be when the other three terminals are official, for which we will not have to wait too long.
