Xbox Music lands on the Android operating system

What's new in Xbox Music

It's been about a year since the service was launched Xbox Music from Microsoft (along with Windows 8). And it is now when it has just been announced that this will be the game in the Android operating system, so it can be used on devices that use the Google development.

With this arrival -and also with its landing on iOS- Xbox Music becomes an option multi platform, so it is much more attractive. Obviously, the corresponding applications for mobile operating systems that have achieved the compatibility announced today will be the starting point. To get them, you simply have to access the usual stores of each of them (it may, of course, that in some locations it takes a little longer to arrive).

The options that the service will offer at first will be from the reproduction of music, to the playlist sync associated with a user (these can be manipulated). Of course, for now the possibility of listening to music without being connected to the Internet still will not be the "game". Regarding this point, Jerry Johnson, manager of Xbox Music, has confirmed that in the coming months “offline” playback will arrive.

What's new in the web version

Apart from the arrival of new versions for Android and iOS, Microsoft has indicated that the web version of Xbox Music (which works via streaming) becomes free for all users and browsers (yes, with a maximum time of use and the corresponding ads). An interesting option to test its operation first-hand and, if you like, go to the paid version.

Besides, it has been announced that the social field will be much more important in Xbox Music from now on. For this, the so-called "Hack Days" (moments in which future features of Microsoft's service are shown in a timely manner) will have, at least, a load of this type of 30%, as indicated by Johnson himself. In this way, you want to compete directly and with a better position with services such as Spotify.
