Is your mobile slow? Some possible solutions

If your mobile is slow, you are one of the many users who has encountered the same problem. There are some solutions and steps you can take to make your mobile work better, or at least to regain fluency twice the one your smartphone had when you bought it.

1.- Close running apps

In general, when a mobile is slow, the big problem is that it does not have the required capacity to execute all the processes. Thus, one of the first options is to see how many apps you have running, and close them all. It is the first resource if the mobile malfunction is momentary, and it is not something that affects the smartphone at all times. To do this, Android has a function with which to view all running apps, which is normally run with the Android Multitasking button, next to the Start button. Some smartphones allow you to close all the apps at the same time, in others we will have to close them one by one.

2.- Internal memory

The second aspect to take into account also has to do with the ability to execute the processes. However, in this case it is not about eliminating processes, as in the previous case, but the fact that we have run out of capacity on the smartphone. The mobile has to use the internal memory to be able to execute the different processes. If we have a lot of data in this memory, and there is no free memory, the smartphone will slow down. Thus, something key is to free memory. You sometimes think that if you have 13 GB of memory available, you can use 13 GB, but the reality is that it is not. 75% of the memory should be free for the smartphone to function smoothly. Thus, something key is to free space in the internal memory. In general, that will happen by uninstalling applications, especially those that take up the most space.

3.- Update the apps

When we have many applications to update, it is actually as if there are processes to run, and this can also slow down the smartphone. In general, this only happens when there are many apps that we have to update. It is in those moments when we will have to update them to get the smartphone to regain some fluidity.

4.- Update the operating system

Sometimes, when you install a new update, which should come with improvements, the performance of the smartphone worsens. Some error in the update can lead to a malfunction of the mobile in general. It can cause smartphone reboots or even some hardware components not working. The only solution in this case is that a new update fixes these problems. Thus, paying attention to updates may be the best. We can also try to install an older firmware version, but generally this will always be more complex, and only for advanced users on Android.

5.- Buy a new mobile

Sometimes there are no other options than buying a new mobile if we want it to work well. The operating system is getting better, or has more and more options. Adding these options to the operating system on the same mobile has the result that the mobile works worse than when we bought it. The same happens with the updates of the apps that we have installed. One or two years later, apps take up more space, and therefore, the mobile will perform worse. Thus, mobiles have a life of about two years. If it is a basic range mobile, usually after a year they will start to malfunction. A mid-range could reach two years, and a high-end will reach three or four years. Thus, the ideal is to take into account that you will have to change your smartphone so that it works well from time to time. Choosing a mid-range, a basic range or a high-end, must also depend on this.
