Android and iOS are just as unsafe for businesses, study finds

It does not matter how much we talk about how false the claims that Android is a more insecure operating system than iOS, if we do not have data to confirm that this is so. A study by Marble Security Labs confirms that, indeed, iOS is not more secure than Android. This was confirmed by David Jevans, CTO and founder of Marble Security Labs, in a conference for companies, in which he spoke precisely about the difference in security between Android and iOS, and which of the two mobile operating systems was more secure. Android is an operating system that has been criticized by rival companies, such as Apple. However, this new study would confirm that this is not the case.

Although the specific results of the study have not been published, the conclusions obtained by Marble Security Labs when advising companies have been clear, choosing Android or iOS does not mean choosing an operating system that is more secure than another.

It is stated that both an operating system and the other have the same security problems. David Jevans said: “We have used up to 14 of the most common attack vectors in our labs and, with the exception of controlling their application distribution, iOS and Android present exactly the same level of security in the face of the risks that concern companies. Business."

It is true that they refer to the control of the distribution of applications carried out by Apple and carried out by Google. While to install an application that is not in the App Store you have to lose the iPhone warranty, and perform jailbreak, in Android you just have to make a modification in the smartphone settings. Of course, only 1% of Android malware is present in the Google Play application store. This means that any user who only installs applications from Google Play has a security level as high as that of an iOS smartphone. For this reason we say that the only objective of antivirus for Android is to benefit users' fear of something unreal.
