The HTC Sensation XL begins to receive Ice Cream Sandwich in Europe

HTC is releasing the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for its Sensation XL at least in Europe. We have not found an official announcement, at least as we write this post, but in various forums users from different European countries claim to have already received Android 4.0.x on their mobiles. In addition, the file is already on the HTC servers. You are one of them?

One of the first messages appeared this morning on the XDA Developers forum. A British customer of the operator O2 claimed to be receiving a update your 197 megabyte software. In the same thread, new messages from users with HTC Sensation XL from Finland, Sweden (here it was a free mobile) or Holland began to appear immediately. We have also seen that in Romania they are also receiving it.

Everything seems to indicate that it is a global update, or at least a European one. This conclusion is helped by the appearance of the update on HTC servers of that 197 mega file with the words ICS Europe in its long file name. The update seems that it is only being via OTA, so we will have to have the WiFi open. None of the users talk about having received it via HTC Sync.

The Taiwan company had announced in March the list of your devices that you intend to upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich. First he published only the list and second that list but already with dates approximate. The Sensation XL was expected for April June, so they have been on the deadline.

By the way, from what we have been able to see, user interface is HTC Sense 3.6. If you have already received the update, you can comment on how it goes. In a mobile like the Sensation XL, appeared in October and with a 1,5 GHz processor, it should not have major problems although its 768 megabytes of RAM may be a bit short. To check if the update is ready for your terminal, go to settings / about phone / system updates. If you can't find it, you can still download it from the following link.

Update to ICS of HTC Sensation XL.

We have read it in XDA Developers.
