Samsung needs a hit in the mid-range

Samsung is a company that has a presence in almost all the segments that exist in current mobility, at least when it comes to phones and tablets. But this does not mean that there are “recognizable” terminals for users in all of them and, a clear example of this, is the mid-range product.

Samsung already has, for example, models of great prestige (they may like more or less) both in the most powerful phones with the Galaxy S5 and in the phablet segment, where the Galaxy Note are the "kings" today. But, the truth is that in the mid-range of the product things are not exactly the same, far from it.

The truth is that they have a good number of models that inhabit it, such as the Galaxy S5 Mini or other less powerful models. But, they certainly do not have a device that stands out and allows the company to be sought after when a cheap phone with adequate features is needed. That is they don't have their own Motorola Moto G and, this, is something that they must solve better before than later.

The reason why we say this is that more and more users decide to buy a free mid-range terminal and, therefore, that niche should not be lost by Samsung, which must be far-sighted and not be caught Dislodged (a bit now) so that users also have the option of being able to buy a model of this type manufactured by it. That is, you should try do the same as with the Note, and that implies a concrete development, specific advertising and focusing on a particular range (and we will see if this is possible, since if the Korean company is characterized by something, it is by offering an almost unattainable number of models for memory).

A product range already fully established

The truth is that the mid-range product is becoming stronger and sales are increasing, both in free models and in those subsidized by the operators. And, those companies that do not position themselves in it, may suffer in the future. Therefore, it is logical the efforts of manufacturers such as Sony or HTC for launching differential models, but in reality what is needed is a recognizable one that generates a call effect. Thus, Motorola could be overshadowed in a better way, something that right now is not very possible since with the Moto G the Lenovo company has hit the nail on the head.

We will see if Samsung decides to launch a model that stands out among the rest to position itself as we have commented, and it is possible that with the new range with a metal casing it will try (but I am very afraid that the price will not be exactly something favorable). But etime passes And it is no longer useful as before to have a more powerful model than the rest -which also- now has to adapt to the times and there are already many who need a solvent terminal and find it in the mid-range of the product. There is time to achieve what I think is necessary for the Korean company, but this is less and less. Will Samsung manage to have a model as recognizable in the mid-range as the Motorola Moto G?

    I think the formula is for Samsung to stop using touchwiz in the lower-middle range (which in these ranges only contributes to performance) and to use almost pure Android, so software updates could also be given in the range. medium-low of samsung almost do not exist.

      It is undoubtedly a good option, but complicated since Samsung uses TouchWiz as something differential, not as a mere add-on (and necessary to be able to use some special functionalities, as for example in the Note). But the truth is that the Galaxy Google Edition that they launched was a "cannon", so it is a possibility ... the fact is that, in my opinion, they need a reference device in the range and recognizable ...
