An Android smartphone whose battery lasts a week

Today mobile devices are the complete opposite of what they were six or seven years ago. Before, they looked for mobiles that weighed little, were small, and the battery lasted a long time. Nowadays the situation is totally opposite: smartphones are getting bigger and bigger, and batteries last less and less. Who was going to say that today there could be a device like this, which has been present at the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona, and whose battery lasts a week, but a real week. Of course, it may not be the device with the most qualities on the market. The best, what it only costs 150 euros.

The smartphone has a name, or something like it, Onyx E Ink Android. And as you can see through this, its main characteristic is that its screen is made of electronic ink. This screen allows you to last a week without problems, since it dispenses with the element with the highest energy consumption, the high-quality screen. Not high definition, not LED technology, nothing like that, it is not even a color screen, but a black and white one. Let's remember that electronic ink displays can have two colors in each pixel, so to speak, black and white. It only spends energy to go from one state to the other, that is, from white to black, or vice versa.

The Onyx E Ink Android also has an incredible price, costing only 150 euros. However, it is still anchored a bit in the past, with Android Gingerbread as its operating system. Be that as it may, it may be interesting for those who are only looking for a device capable of running the necessary applications today, such as email and WhatsApp itself, but that offers an unbeatable battery and autonomy with an unbeatable price.

According to Xataka, it is a month that lasts http://www.xatakandroid.com/moviles-android/onyx-traera-un-android-con-pantalla-e-ink-y-un-mes-de-autonomia but I think the software needs to be improved a lot. When it goes more smoothly, then there will be no one to stop it.

One month? I normally read the entries of xataka, but this seems infumable to me. Anyone who has had a 3G mobile will know that the battery does not last more than 2 days even if you do not use the screen. So you will tell me how it lasts for a week or a week (unless it works in 2G, slow connection). Apart from the software, what happens when there is no light? ... It is perhaps a good idea for a very specific audience, but I do not see anything in the future how to replace the mobile of a typical user

You're right, if the screen is not backlit as soon as there is no fucking light, I suppose it will have a little button in the style of casio watches.
