Android TV will be presented today at the Google I / O event

Android TV

While waiting for the Google I / O event to start this afternoon, little by little the news that will be of the game is known (at least on paper). One of them, as expected, is that the service will be announced Android TV, which is specifically intended to be used on large screens.

It even seems that this development could be one of the stars in the opening event of Google I/O, which would mean that it is one of the big bets of the Mountain View company this year. Besides, some sources indicate that you could even see a player (set-top-box) today, which is not clear if it would be from Google itself or a product born in collaboration with a manufacturer.

Apparently, the first device in the Android TV range (we will see if it maintains this specification), would integrate a processor Nvidia Tegra 4, although it seems that other models would be preparing with components manufactured by Intel. The case is that in both cases the capacity of these devices is expected to be high, so the possibility of playing games is real and it is confirmed that this would be the game and, therefore, the usefulness of these devices it would be very wide. An example that the latter would be real is a capture that has been made of the Riptide GP2 game:

Game feature compatible with Android TV

From what it seems, the options in the section of the execution of the games would be wide and interesting. For example, they could save games in the cloud in order, in this way, to be able to continue them on another device and, apart, it would make it easier for controller manufacturers to launch products that are fully compatible with Android TV (something that would mean a definitive push and that allowed Google to compete with products like Ouya, for example).

But, all this would not make sense if there was no support from other companies, especially those of services and software. Therefore, everything indicates that Google would have already begun to close deals with great game developers for Android TV and also with providers such as Netflix and Pandora. If everything indicated is confirmed, the bet is the most attractive, right?
