Comparison: Huawei Ascend P6 vs Samsung Galaxy S4

El Huawei Ascend P6 It was presented today at the event that the company has held in the English city of London. They have focused especially on design, creating a smartphone with a great resemblance to the iPhone. Will it be able to compete with the high end of the market? Huawei says yes. We have decided to check it, and we are going to compare it. We start with the flagship of the South Koreans. Comparison: Huawei Ascend P6 vs Samsung Galaxy S4.

Processor and RAM

We begin by talking about one of the fundamental pillars of any smartphone when evaluating it, the processor it has. We all know that the Samsung Galaxy S4, at least the one sold in Spain, is the version compatible with LTE 4G. In this case, the mobile has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, with a clock frequency of 1,6 GHz. On the other hand, the Huawei Ascend P6 has a K3V2 processor, also quad-core, capable of reaching a clock frequency of 1,5 GHz. They are very similar in this respect.

With regard to RAM, both terminals have a 2 GB unit. So little can be compared in this regard, where we find a clear technical tie.

Huawei Ascend P6

Screen and camera

When we talk about the screen and the camera, we do find serious differences between both smartphones. On the one hand, the Huawei Ascend P6 has a 4,7-inch screen, a size that is quite good, and that is not so exaggerated. However, the screen resolution is high definition, but it is not Full HD, staying at 1280 by 720 pixels. The screen of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is five inches, and it is Full HD, 1920 by 1080 pixels. Although many say that the sharpness of the Huawei screen is quite good, the truth is that the difference exists and that it is wide.

With the case of the camera something similar happens. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 13 megapixel camera, adjusting to what is required for any high-end that hit the market, and with a 1,9 megapixel front camera. It is true that the Huawei Ascend P6 has an eight megapixel camera, but the four centimeter macro greatly improves the quality of the photographs. Also, the front camera is five megapixels. It goes from being a useless camera like the one on the Galaxy, because in the end the front cameras are, to being a camera with which to take worthy photographs.

Operating System

Little can we say in this case. The operating system is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean in both cases, although it is true that they do have different interfaces. While the Samsung Galaxy S4 has the TouchWiz interface, the Huawei has the Emotion interface. It should be noted that the Chinese company has worked hard on this last interface, offering more than 1.000 themes to customize it. Without a doubt, it could be something decisive when choosing a smartphone or the other.

Samsung Galaxy S4

Memory and battery

When it comes to internal memory, here we also find big differences. On the one hand, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has several versions, with different memories. Meanwhile, the Huawei has a single version. On the other hand, the most basic version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 has a memory of 16 GB, with more versions of 32 GB and 64 GB. However, the Huawei Ascend P6 comes with a single version, with 8 GB memory.

The Samsung Galaxy S4's battery is 2.600 mAh. It is not the smartphone on the market with the most battery, but let's say it is normal. The Huawei Ascend P6 has a 2.000 mAh battery. A priori, it seems a bit scarce. It is true that the screen is of lower resolution and, therefore, it will consume less power. That could make up for it.

Price

Currently, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is priced at 599 euros, and even less in some specific distributors. However, the Huawei Ascend P6 is priced at just 449 euros. The difference is very notable, 150 euros. But you also have to take into account the difference in characteristics between the two, which resides, above all, on the screen. All aspects will have to be taken into account in this case before making a decision.

similar in processor ?? man is something absurd that we all know the characteristics of the huawei processors ... maybe we should have compared the huawei p6 with the s4 mini, it would be more fair

The S4 has 2 versions, the eight-core one (4 high-power 1,6 GHz, and 4 low-power 1,2 Ghz, they take turns depending on what you are doing) the other version is a snapdragon 600 of 4 cores at 1,9 GHz.
Huawei processors should not be underestimated so much, already in 2012 they gave the world a slap in the face with the introduction of their first K3V2, surpassing the S2 of that time, of course, a few months later Samsung reacted with the S3 and left them behind again. Currently with a career in which QUALCOMM, NVIDIA, SAMSUMG, APPLE, is imposing with their SoCs, Huwaei still has a long way to go, not for quality, but for the marketing used by these companies at the time of getting into head your products. Of course, the K3V2 is still not up to the Snapdragon 800, much less Apple's A7 chip, but we are not all up to paying more than 600 euros for a team that can at least meet current demands.
