Comparison: Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Huawei Ascend P7

Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Huawei Ascend P7

El Huawei Ascend P7 has been unveiled today. It is the flagship of the company. Its specs are high-end, but it remains unclear whether it will be able to compete with flagships from Samsung, HTC or Sony. In this comparison, we are going to compare the Huawei Ascend P7 with what is considered the best smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Processor and RAM

The processor is one of the components that makes the difference between the two smartphones. In the case of the Samsung Galaxy S5, it has the best on the market. The processor of the smartphone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, capable of reaching a clock frequency of 2,5 GHz. The Huawei Ascend P7 has a processor that they manufacture themselves, the HiSilicon Balong 910. This processor is capable of reaching a frequency of 1,8 GHz clock. The difference in clock frequency is high, but the problem is that the previous Huawei smartphones did not have a very good performance.

As far as RAM is concerned, we find two smartphones that do not stand out for having a high-capacity RAM. 2 GB of RAM in both cases. They could carry a 3 GB RAM, but the truth is that the smartphone most likely worked the same way.

Samsung Galaxy S5

Screen and camera

It is difficult to compare the screen of the Samsung Galaxy S5, as it is considered the best in the smartphone market. It is a 5,1-inch Super AMOLED HD display, Full HD, with a resolution of 1.920 x 1.080 pixels. The screen of the Huawei Ascend P7 is five inches, and it is also Full HD, with a resolution of 1.920 x 1.080 pixels. In a very precise analysis, that of the Huawei Ascend P7 could be something worse, but the truth is that the quality of the screens of the two smartphones is very similar.

The case of the camera is really remarkable, as it allows us to realize the great differences in the market. The main camera of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is 16 megapixels. The main camera of the Huawei Ascend P7 is 13 megapixels. Anyone concludes that the latter has a camera with a worse resolution. However, the front camera of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is only two megapixels, while the front camera of the Huawei Ascend P7 is eight megapixels. It's noticeably better, and Huawei may have invested more in photo quality than Samsung when you factor in the two cameras.

Memory and battery

Regarding the memory versions of the two terminals, we find that this year the companies have released fewer versions. The Samsung Galaxy S5 can be purchased with 16GB or 32GB. The Huawei Ascend P7 will only be available with a memory of 16 GB. In both cases, it is possible to expand the memory with a microSD card.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 also seems to have greater autonomy. The battery of the smartphone of the South Korean company has a capacity of 2.800 mAh, while the battery of the Huawei Ascend P7 is 2.500 mAh. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has battery saving modes that could be decisive when buying a smartphone.

Integrated

The Huawei Ascend P7 once again has a design inspired by the iPhone, although this time it also combines some other very remarkable elements. For example, it has an off button that is very reminiscent of the Sony Xperia. The sides of the smartphone are made of aluminum, while the front and back covers are made of glass. In addition, the back shell has been designed with a microdot pattern that catches light and shines. Seven layers of different materials had to be used to achieve this effect. And there is no need to worry about scratching, as it is wearing Gorilla Glass 3.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a plastic casing, which simulates skin, and also has a microdot pattern. The design of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is less premium than that of the Huawei Ascend P7, but it is waterproof.

Price

The Huawei Ascend P7 is a lower quality smartphone than the Samsung Galaxy S5. But how much? The South Korean smartphone costs 700 euros, the Huawei Ascend P7 costs 450 euros. The difference is 250 euros. In addition to the technical specifications that we have already talked about, the fingerprint reader and the heart rate monitor of the Galaxy S5 should be taken into account. With all this data, it is the user who has to decide which of the two smartphones to buy.

Huawei does not need a battery saving regimen. Indeed, in any regime it has a saving of about 35% and the standby if the phone does not re-track, it is 45% better than Samsung. This means that with a 2500 battery it lasts longer than the Samsung with 2800. In addition to being lighter and it takes less time to recharge.

The huawei is very good. Too bad that much does not stand out in competing with Samsung, much less Sony ... but with regard to the battery .. mmm Samsung has 2800 mah, this does not mean that it lasts longer than the Huawei, since it is not as powerful in processor. But Samsung has 2.5 GHz compared to Huawei's 1.8. It means that Samsung consumes more battery due to having more frequency ... I mean that in battery consumption they are almost the same ... and about the Samsung's power saving mode .. I don't like it .. It turns all white and gray., And it does not let you go to other things. The icons are ugly .. You will not want to walk all day with the saving activated .. On the other hand the Sony Xperia z2 has stamina mode .. That is good .. my cell phone lasts all day .. I have an Xperia m. .and this one has 1750 mah..it does not put a white and gray screen, it does not prohibit me from going to other applications, above all, the stamina mode of the Xperias are very good..Samsung also has energy saving .. But let it turn white and gray .. You will not want to walk every day In black and white, hahaha I say no?

          I own a Galaxy
s5, in normal mode and with moderate use I end the day with 30%, my father who
has another with a lesser use lasts a couple of days and that we do not use the
two modes of saving, the normal one "the one of all the life" that does not put in black / white
and the ultra savings that disconnects everything except calls, messages,
whatapp, in this mode for every 10% of battery it lasts about 24 hours, for cases
          of emergency.

Is that the battery has to last as you say it lasts 1 day with 30% .. This is very good. The Xperia z1 arrived the same and with the stamina function, it took more time ... but what I say is that Samsung's energy saving can not be activated every day ... This is only used for emergencies. .

Friend, the clock frequency of a processor has nothing to do with battery consumption, since according to how the processors are built, you have heard of the performance per watt, here that applies and I know the processors qualcom has an excellent relationship between performance per watt, which makes devices consume less.

I respect your opinions but remember that Huawei is 250 euros cheaper and I believe that only for that reason it is worth buying the P7, the two phones are very similar, each one stands out in what it is to invest. I would buy the P7, and I don't see much difference in it and it's cheaper
