Confirmed, the Sony Xperia Z have come to an end

Sony Xperia X Performance updates to Android Oreo

The Sony Xperia Z5 is going to be the last smartphone in the Sony Xperia Z series. And it is that Sony has officially confirmed that from now on the Sony Xperia X will be the new flagship smartphones of the company, starting a new phase in which they will try to offer the best smartphones based on a good camera, a long battery life, and good hardware and software design.

Sony Xperia Z

Many Sony Xperia Z smartphones have been launched. From the first original Sony Xperia Z, continuing with each of the main versions, as well as each of the variants of these, including also the tablets that have been launched from the Z series, It is true that there have been a few years in which it has been very easy to identify Sony phones and tablets. Whether or not that will change in the future is something we do not know. But what we do know is that the end of the Sony Xperia Z family has been confirmed. That means that the Sony Xperia Z5, and its Compact and Premium variants have been the last of this series to be launched.

Sony Xperia X Performance

Sony Xperia X

The new mobiles that will replace the Sony Xperia Z as the flagship mobiles will be the Sony Xperia X. Three have already been launched, the Sony Xperia XA, the Sony Xperia X, and the Sony Xperia X Performance, the only one that really can be considered as a flagship. This is already remarkable, because until now all the Sony Xperia Z had been high-end, and from the outset that is not what happens with the Sony Xperia X. However, it is very likely that the Sony Xperia X1 is already launched in the second half of the year it arrives with high-level technical characteristics. Or maybe Sony has decided to dispense with the components that are only included for marketing and focus on other features in each of its phones. Recently a Qualcomm employee claimed that manufacturers were asking them for 8-core processors even though the difference from 4-core processors in performance was very low, and the difference in energy efficiency was remarkable. Many times we have talked about the fact that mobiles have components of a higher level than what they really require to execute the processes that they must execute. And an example of this is the iPhone, a mobile with a processor with only 2 cores. Perhaps Sony wants to do away with the "stupidity" of installing the latest components just because they are the latest and have to be sold, and want to focus on getting the most out of the components they install.

In any case, in their official announcement, what they stand out is that they want to focus on three fundamental pillars: the camera, the battery and the design, both hardware and software, so we already know what we can expect from the new Sony Xperia X that will go on to become Sony's new flagship series.
