Dolphin claims to be the fastest browser

We knew that Dolphin HD was a good browser and that is already a merit for a project born for the mobile environment and faced with giants like Chrome, Firefox or Opera. But, they have just redesigned its engine and now its creators maintain that it is the fastest HTML5 browser. We have tested it and, although the tests are not scientific at all, it goes like lightning.

Many of you will have Dolphin HD installed for its voice or gestural search functions. In addition, it has a fresh air that differentiates it from other browsers, almost all imported from the desktop environment. But Dolphin also wants to stand out for its speed.

They have just launched their Dolphin Engine in beta. Its new engine seems to be getting top scores, rendering HTML5 five to ten times faster than the default browser that comes with the Android operating system and twice as fast as the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Chrome.

To obtain these results, the people at Dolphin have used HTML5test.com, one of the most reliable tools to measure the degree of browser support for HTML5. Its new engine also surpasses Firefox, the iOS browser, and the Windows browser.

They claim that to achieve these results they have had to make a large number of changes in their browser, in particular in the rendering of images and a more efficient management of the processing capacity of the graphics processors and the CPU.

The best thing is that you try it yourself by downloading the apk file of the Dolphin Engine beta. In my case, I have found that it was far ahead of my default browser and Firefox but there was hardly any difference with Chrome.
