Facebook Home is now available to be installed

Facebook Home

As of today it is already possible to download Facebook Home with Google Play, but only on the following terminals: Samsung Galaxy S3, Note 2, Galaxy S4, HTC One and HTC One X +. Apparently so that more users could access the creation, Facebook Home made an APK patch available to users residing outside the US.

Most people have assumed that it could be used on any device, but sadly it is not, as the patch APK check which device is being installed, therefore, if it is not one of the terminals that we have mentioned above it can be done unless it is rooted, in this case you have the possibility to edit the build.prop file and well add the phone in question. But, do not panic for people who cannot perform the installation, because the developer Pablo O'Brien at MoDaCo has published the patched version of Facebook Home, which eliminates the terminal check.

The first and very important thing to do is to uninstall the previously existing Facebook and Messenger applications, as updated versions of these applications will be needed. Once this is done, you only have to download and install the APK files, which are katana, the main Facebook archive, Orca, of the Messenger application and that of the Facebook Home. Here are the links to download the APK files:

Once installed, downloaded the files, we will explain how to install it

Facebook Home is what is commonly called "pitcher" which is the general term for home screens and app drawers. This "launcher" runs on Android, which means that you don't actually have a Facebook phone, that's the most interesting feature of Android, that you can install any launcher on the top layer of the operating system and that's what Facebook Home does.

To start Facebook Home you just have to follow two very simple options:

  • Go to your app drawer and click on the new one Home of the application.
  • Open the Facebook application and you will see Finish Configuration.

After these steps, a dialog box will appear asking for "Complete the action using ..." and you will see a couple of icons. What your phone is asking you is if the new launcher is the one you want to use from now on, (if you regret it, don't worry, Facebook Home can be easily uninstalled), then you must press the Home icon and then select "Forever", since if you select "Only once" every time you press the Home button, a reminder will appear, asking you to perform all these steps again.

After 10 seconds Facebook Home will be ready to use. If you want to see all the steps clearly, we leave you this video:
