Facebook gives more importance to Facebook Messenger than WhatsApp

The Beta version of Facebook Messenger has been updated and now includes support for Android Wear. WhatsApp, at the moment, is still not compatible with the operating system for smart watches, despite having more than twice as many users as Facebook Messenger. Does Facebook want to make Facebook Messenger the premier messaging app?

A few days ago we affirmed that the future of WhatsApp was to disappear, as it would end up being integrated into Facebook Messenger, which would finally be the main messaging application for Facebook that just released dark mode. When WhatsApp was bought, it seemed impossible that the 18 billion dollars that had been spent would be used to stay with the users of the application, get them to switch to Facebook Messenger, and forget about the application. In fact, the closure of Facebook Messenger seemed much more logical. However, Facebook seems to be giving more importance to Facebook Messenger. Again, it is demonstrated after Facebook has updated the Facebook Messenger Beta, and the application has become compatible with Android Wear, thus allowing to read the messages received on the smart watch, and even answer them if we have a keyboard installed on the smart watch.

WhatsApp currently it looks like an abandoned app. The update that was due to arrive before the summer and that was to include the new VoIP calling function has not yet arrived, and it seems that it would be for the autumn. What seems impossible, in any case, is that Facebook has decided to close Facebook Messenger and stay with WhatsApp as the main messaging application, because then it would not make sense for the company to continue working on the development of Facebook Messenger, and also give it more importance than the development of WhatsApp. The disappearance of WhatsApp it could be a possibility. However, it remains to be seen if that is so, or if when the new calling function for WhatsApp is launched, everything changes again, and it becomes the main messaging application for Facebook.
