At least, it will be impossible at the level that it was in Nintendo's Pokémon games. The big difference will be that this is an online game, a game in which there are other players. If some gain an unfair advantage, players who do not get it could be harmed, and leave the game, something that would do nothing but not good for Niantic. We'll see if they manage to avoid the tricks in any way. Constant updates will be the only way to achieve this, and to be introducing constant news to the game as well. Currently, the only objective is to dominate the gyms, but new objectives could come to the game that make users not focus only on leveling up, or on getting one or the other Pokémon. For example, will the fighting between users ever come? Can we train Pokémon in the style of traditional Pokémon games to level up? Niantic says that Pokémon GO is right now at 10% of what the game will actually be, so we can expect many more news to come to this game that has already been a mass phenomenon.
Of course, in the meantime, they have to launch it around the world. For that you will have to spend time, and who knows if Pokémon GO will die of success before it can become the definitive video game. In fact, it almost is. It has broken records in terms of downloads, and income. It generates very important benefits. It remains to be seen if a company like Niantic is able to manage the success of the game without the experience that, for example, Nintendo has, because after all, the latter are only a small part of the complete group that is in charge of Pokémon GO .
