Filtered new features of the possible LG G2 mini

New details about the possible LG G2 mini, which as the name suggests would be a mini version of the current LG flagship, have made their appearance. The lg g2mini, Under the LG D618 and LG D620 models, it could come with up to four models with different screen resolution, as well as an eight megapixel camera and Android 4.4 KitKat installed as standard. In addition, they also suggest that LG could follow the same strategy that its rival Sony has carried out with the Xperia Z1 Compact.

Everything indicates that LG also wants to gain a foothold in the market with its own mini versions of its main mobile devices. Currently, the South Korean company competes in the market with the LG G2, its flagship, a terminal that, although it includes good high-end features, has not managed to meet the expectations set by the company in terms of sales. For this 2014Everything indicates that the company is also preparing a new model, the LG G3, which if so, will become the flagship smartphone to compete in the sector with the models of other rivals such as Samsung, for example.

But in addition to this possible LG G3, new rumors point again that the company would be thinking of a mini version of the LG G2, under the name LG G2 mini, with which to try to achieve a greater presence in the market and, therefore, a possible boost in sales. On this LG G2 mini, possible specifications have already appeared previously, such as its possible processor or even the version of Android that it would include.

Possible LG G2 Mini

However, this week from Phone Arena they point to new data. According to the information they have had access to, the LG company would be thinking of several possible strategies for this LG G2. On the one hand, LG would follow in the footsteps of its rival Sony and it is possible that it would dare with an LG G2 mini whose specifications would be similar to its older brother, simply reducing some of its benefits such as the size of your screen or the capacity of your battery. This decision is what Sony has made in the recently introduced Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, the long-awaited mini version of its flagship Sony Xperia Z1.

Following the strategy proposed by Sony with its Xperia Z1 Compact, it is possible that LG will achieve good results in the market, since it would be a new LG G2 model with the same features that would also see its price and that it would encourage users to opt for it compared to other models.

Up to four different screen resolutions

Along with the possibility of following a strategy similar to that of Sony, these same sources have also ensured that the LG G2 mini would have up to four resolutions different screen sizes: 1.280 × 960, 2.560 × 1.920, 3.200 × 1.920 and 3.264 × 2.448, although they may be too high for a mini version.

In addition, they also point out that it will have a main camera with an 8 megapixel sensor and with the Android 4.4 KitKat version installed as standard. In addition, two model numbers have already appeared for this supposed LG G2 mini, specifically LG D818 and LG D20, so it is more likely that instead of four models only two different models will hit the market.

At the moment, no more data has been revealed about the possible specifications of this LG G2 mini, nor do we have a possible estimate of its arrival on the market. We can only hope that 2014 progresses and that finally the South Korean company officially presents this terminal, provided that it is among its plans for this year.

So many different definitions for a mini version ?????
I hope LG focuses on the personalization layer it uses and the user experience. Maybe one version is "mini" and the other is "compact." That would make sense and I think it could work. At least to confuse the market 😛

It should also be noted that its screen would drop to a hypothetical 4,5 / 4,7 inches. Sony's Z1 compact has no real rival in the 4,3 segment. Anyway. I hope both companies sell well and return to the logic of powerful terminals in manageable sizes.
