It's official: Android 5.1 is being deployed for the Motorola Moto X 2014

Finally the wait for users who have a Motorola Moto X2014 and wish to get Android 5.1 comes to an end. This is what has been communicated from the company itself and, therefore, the deployment of the new firmware for the model that the manufacturer currently has as a high-end model is already beginning. Good news, therefore.

The confirmation that this is the case has been made David schuster, one of Motorola's executives, through a statement on the social network Google+. In this way, the problems that had been found for the Motorola Moto X2014 received Android 5.1 have been fixed and, thus, will suffer the same fate as the previous generation devices that jumped directly from KitKat to the commented version of Google development.

The first models that are going to receive the new version of the operating system are the Motorola Moto X 2014 Pure Edition, for later that they are all who receive the new ROM via OTA, as usual. The fact is that the forecasts indicate that in a period of two or three weeks the deployment will be global and, therefore, it will be possible to enjoy Android 5.1 without having to resort to manual installation that is sometimes tedious -and that implies a certain risk-.

Important news

The truth is that this version of Android includes internal options that improve the experience of using the devices, something that will be well received by what a Motorola Moto X 2014 has. An example of what we say is a progress in the notification system, which is now much more efficient, direct access to certain specific sections from the shortcuts and, of course, progress is being made in the security and RAM management sections - although the latter will not be 100% optimized, something that will happen with Android M-.

Now we just have to wait for each of the countries to receive the firmware for the Motorola Moto X 2014, something that knowing this company it will happen very quickly. If we take into account how it has worked on other occasions for Spain, in just one week you will get your ROM with Android 5.1. And, in this way, you will be able to enjoy all its improvements this summer… Can you tell us what you detect when you have the update installed?

I received the update more than a week ago, a few days after I bought it. First from 4.4.4 to 5.0, and then to 5.1. Although I have not tested it enough with 4.4.4 and 5.0, the impression it gave me was higher battery drain with 5.0 and that it was improved with 5.1. As for design changes, etc. the first impression is negative, although later you will like the small changes, especially the new notification system, finally evaluating the change as positive.
