The POCO Launcher is the launcher that came out together with the Pocophone F1, flagship killer of Poco, the sub-brand of Xiaomi. The Launcher was also released to download and install on your phone, whatever the brand, and we can find it in the Play Store. And now it updates to its version 2.0 in its beta with some interesting improvements to better organize the apps on your phone.
One of the features that I liked the most about the POCO Launcher is that it intelligently organizes your applications according to their functionality in your application drawer. And although the result is quite accurate, one of its main problems is that you could not modify those categories, but now With the beta version 2.0, this has improved.
Categories to suit the user
Now we will have the option to change the name of the categories, add or remove apps, etc. And of course choose which categories to show and which categories not to show.
Of course, you can also delete any category so that when you slide between all the categories in your application box, you don't have to go through categories of apps that you don't want to have.
You can also organize them to leave the ones that interest you least at the end, although we could already do that before version 2.0.
Customize the app drawer
The categories, of course, we will locate them in the application drawer, so an extra touch of personalization has also been added in it.
You can modify the size of the letters and the icons, which not only helps you to have it to your liking, but it can also help people with tired eyes or other problems. And of course add dark mode to app drawer.
Other updates
Of course, in every update, although there is always one novelty that outweighs the others in terms of importance, the novelties come in a group, this is all the changes applied in version 2.0:
- Delete, add and rename the categories and apps that we find within (as we have discussed).
- Improvements in the graphical interface, generally minor.
- Improved performance and fluency of the launcher.
- Typical bug problem solutions.
The truth is that although they are not especially big changes for a version 2.0, only the changes in the categories already improve a lot the way you treat the system and navigate through it, so we are happy with these news.
