Good news for Spotify users. And is that ... What better than to be with your friends to be listening to music? Well now when you are listening to music with your friends on a speaker, on your Chromecast or Smart TV or similar situations, you will have the possibility to control the queue between everyone to be able to make a list to everyone's liking. We tell you everything in detail.
Similar to when you are playing YouTube on a Smart TV or Chromecast, everyone connected to Wi-Fi can add videos to the play queue. Soon we will be able to see it in the options of our Spotify.
Group session on Spotify
This will be included in the function that might be called Social Listenting in Spanish). A few months ago, Twitter user Jane Manhun Wong claimed that this feature was being tested internally on Spotify.
This new feature was presented with a very simple operation. Through a friend code that Spotify provides directly or through a link you could enter this collaborative "Play Queue". In this way you can add music to all your friends to create a list to the liking of all those present, something that is not bad at all, and that will always brighten up a festive atmosphere.
A "host" should appear in the menu of available devices, which is the one who is playing the music, and you can try to connect to that host. Then you must enter the code or host must pass you the link for this SocialListening. The names of the connected friends will appear in the application. Of course at any time you can leave the group.
The function is still in testing
This was the original idea presented by this tweeter entering June. And although it did not seem bad, it seems that Spotify continues to test certain things, and a reader of the famous blog Android Police reported that it was receiving this function under the name of Group session, and that although the changes are not very big, the option to share a URL to enter this group session has disappeared.
Certain aesthetic differences have also been noticed, leaving a much cleaner and more understanding interface.
Until now this was only available internally to Spotify employees, so seeing it on a user's phone may already mean the feature is coming soon. Anyway, it seems that Spotify is still looking at different ways to use this function and implement it in the best possible way.
What do you think? Do you find it interesting?
