Nexus 4: know details of its autonomy

The fact that Nexus 4 It is a terminal that offers good features. It is not a novelty. Its performance is very good, since LG has integrated a quad-core SoC and a 2 GB RAM memory inside it. Therefore, it is not surprising that in the different tests he obtains good scores. But, does the same happen with autonomy?

En GSMArena They have asked themselves the same question and, for this reason, they have subjected this terminal to their well-known tests to assess its autonomy and, in this way, buy it with the one offered by other models on the market. And, the truth is that the results they obtain are ... neither cold nor hot, that is to say that they remain in a middle ground. Below we provide you with two really clarifying results of what Google's Nexus 4 is capable of.

A combination that should be efficient

Two of the essential components that are "guilty" of a better or worse autonomy (apart from the size and technology of the screen) are the battery and the SoC. In this case, the capacity of the first one that includes Nexus 4 is 2.100 mAh (made of lithium polymers) and, in the case of the processor, includes a Qualcomm model that uses a manufacturing technology of 28 nm, so it is understood that it has to be very efficient.

The first of the tests that we offer you and its corresponding infographic is in which the time that you can be browsing without recharging is valued. Here the new Google model obtains a poor result, since it only reaches 4 34 hours and minutes… Well below that obtained by iPhone 5 (the best of all) and Samsung Galaxy S3 that reaches 6 hours and 27 minutes with the Jelly Bean operating system. The truth is that something much better was to be expected.

Another interesting test that can be done on current devices, since they offer great multimedia options, is the time it allows to continuously play videos. Here the time allowed by the phone manufactured by LG arrives at 4 hours and 55 minutes. It does not reach Motorola RAZR MAXX, which is unbeatable, but again it is far from its rivals in the market: iPhone 5 offers 10 hours and 12 minutes and Galaxy S3 (JB) 9 hours and 27 minutess. In other words, it is clearly outmatched.

In short, that the expectations that had been created regarding the lithium polymer battery (instead of lithium ions) has not responded ... far from it. And, the truth is, if what it is capable of offering as autonomy is what you see in Nexus 4 ... things don't look good at all. If you have one of these phones, have you noticed if its autonomy is not the best possible?
