Pokémon GO exceeds 50 million downloads in 20 days

Pokemon GO

Nobody could have said that just 20 days after its launch, Pokémon GO was going to release the figures it reached right now, nothing more and nothing less than 50 million downloads in almost three weeks and only on Google Play. It is on its way to outperforming apps like Instagram at this rate, and certainly far from any other game ever released.

Pokémon GO

When you get a franchise like Pokémon to be successful and continue to grow for 20 years, this franchise usually becomes a resounding success in the market. That has been demonstrated with Pokémon GO. The game is not only a mass success, but it has even managed to capture users who would never have considered what a Zubat or an Ekans was before, despite the fact that they are now everywhere.

50 million downloads in just 20 days is what Pokémon GO has achieved without taking into account a very relevant factor, and that is that the game has not been released worldwide so far.

Pokemon GO

There is still a lot to launch

In addition to having to be released in other regions of the world, the game has yet to improve and include many more features. At least, that's what we hope after Niantic, the game's developers, confirmed that so far Pokémon GO is only 10% of what they expect it to be in the future. There is still a lot to launch. And many news to come. When news continues to arrive, we will then see if Pokémon GO has been a passing fever, or if the game really aspires to be very successful over the years. We will see that. At the moment the download figures are already promising, and at this rate it could even reach the level of applications such as Instagram.
