Xiaomi continues to prepare to make 2018 another year of growth. As part of their strategy, they will launch the Xiaomi Mi 6X, a successor to the Mi 5X that ended up becoming the Xiaomi Mi A1 with Android One, one of the most recommended phones of 2017.

A new render of the Mi 6X shows a vertical dual camera in the style of the iPhone X

For better or worse, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), sets trends in the market. It is something that is very easy to deduce if we look at how more and more manufacturers choose, for example, remove the headphone jack port. We have also been able to observe it in facial recognition systems, which are recently beginning to resurface due to Apple's Face ID. However, not everything is always to set trends in functions, but a matter of design. And if Apple places a vertical dual camera on the iPhone XIt is quite likely that other manufacturers look at that provision and think that they can also adopt it for their mobiles.

With this in mind, a new render of the future Xiaomi Mi 6X shows exactly that: a vertical dual camera on the back of the device. It should be remembered that in the Xiaomi Mi 5X the double camera was horizontal. We can also observe an improvement in the percentage of screen with respect to the body of the device, since the front reduce the size of the frames. The location of the power and volume buttons are also detailed, which will continue on the upper side. The fingerprint sensor does not see its position modified and remains in the rear area: there is no place for a fingerprint sensor under the screen.

We could be facing the future Xiaomi Mi A2

It should be remembered that during 2017, Xiaomi released both the Mi 5X and the We are A1. Both devices shared all the characteristics at the hardware level, but differed in one fundamental aspect: the software. While the Mi 5X worked with MIUI, the Mi A1 used Android One, a pure version of the operating system resulting from the alliance with Google. Given these precedents, it is difficult not to think that this Xiaomi Mi 6X could be the basis of a future Xiaomi Mi A2. The A1 has become one of the most popular smartphones of 2017, and it is one of the main advantages of the company in its international expansion. It's just a matter of keeping the alliance with Google to strengthen this mid-range with pure Android.
