Google Play Music landed as one of Spotify's rivals, although over time it has not managed to reach the database of the streaming music platform. Now it takes another step to become a more interesting option thanks to the union of Runtastic and Google Play Music. And it is that we can Listen free music directly from the app. There are also free trials of the service.

Runtastic and Google Play Music

Google Play Music and Runtastic have reached an agreement for us to have in the sports app access to Google's streaming music service. Thanks to this we will be able to use Runtastic and listen to music directly in the application without having to run any other application. All this is thanks to the fact that we will find directly with Google Play Music playlists created for this purpose, and with different styles that will accompany us in our exercise routines, be it gym, running or cycling.

Creating your own lists

It will also be possible for users to create their own song lists to be able to listen to them directly from Runtastic. If you are a sports fan who also likes music and who already has a list of songs that he likes to listen to, too you can use your own lists. Of course, in this case you will have to be a Google Play Music premium user.

Google Play Music free trials

As in order to create your own lists you need to be a premium user, and in the end, Google's goal with this agreement is to gain users for its streaming music platform, as we will have free Google Play Music trials available, with the premium service, so that we can use the platform if we are Runtastic users, thus creating our own lists, and testing the service to see if it convinces us.

Google Play Music = Spotify = Apple Music

The funny thing about Google Play Music is that, actually, it is very similar to Spotify and Apple Music as a streaming music platform. That is, it will not be difficult for any user to go from one streaming music platform to another, because in reality they all offer us almost the same characteristics, they all look very similar, and we have almost the same song base on all three platforms. In that way, choosing between one or the other will be more a matter of customs or prices. If we are Runtastic users, and we also have access to a free Google Play Music trial, it may be a good option to test the platform.
