If you want to know specific details about this update and its news, you can find out in more detail in our first publication about this version here.

Jelly Bean on Galaxy S2

We recall below the firmware information:

Version: 4.1.2 - JZO54K
PDA: I9100XWLS8
CSC: I9100FOPLS3
MODEM: I9100XXLS8
Change list: 816988
Build date: January 14 2013

If you finally decide to try this version on your Samsung Galaxy S2 to enjoy the new improvements mentioned, here you will find a small tutorial to install update with Odin. If you follow the steps properly, nothing should happen to your device, but it is our job to remind you that We are not responsible for any problem that may arise with your Galaxy.

Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100: Installing Official Jelly Bean Android 4.1.2

1- The first of all is to activate USB Debugging. To do this we go to Settings / Applications / Development / USB Debugging.

2- We turn off the mobile.

3-    On our computer, we unzip the ROM file to install on the desktop, in this case,  I9100XWLS8_I9100FOPLS3_FOP.zip

4- We also unzip Odin3 v3.04 on our desktop. Once unzipped, we run the program as administrator (right button / Run as administrator).

5- With the Odin program open, we must make sure that the Re-partition box is not selected.

6- Select the box to the left of the PDA button, and then press the button to associate the file that we have previously unzipped on the desktop (in step 3): I9100XWLS8_I9100XXLS8_I9100FOPLS3_HOME.tar.md5

7- Now our mobile must start in Download Mode. To do this we must press VOL- (volume down button) + HOME + POWER (power button) at the same time.

8- We connect our mobile to our computer using the USB cable.

9- We check that the “ID: COM” box of the ODIN has been activated. So it will be if everything went well. We see it in the image below:

10- If everything we see in our ODIN interface matches what appears in the image above, (the PDA file that we see in this image does not match the one that will appear to you, since it is taken as a Example of interface, you should see the one indicated in step 6) it is time to press START. We will see that in the box "ID: COM" a bar will start to run that shows the installation process.

11-Once the installation is finished, the same box "ID: COM" will turn green with the word "PASS". We will also see that the mobile begins to restart more than once. Do not disconnect it, it is normal for this to happen, and we must let it restart as many times as it needs.

12- We can disconnect the mobile from the computer when we finally see the Galaxy S2 logo on the screen.

Following all these steps carefully and calmly, We will already have Jelly Bean Android 4.1.2 running on our Samsung Galaxy S2! Congratulations, and enjoy it!

Will this version work for other parts of the world? I'm from Chile and I have the leak version of Jelly Bean installed but I want to update to the final version .. someone knows if this affects the mobile signal since Spain has different networks than those in America .. greetings and good topic!

    1.    Then said

I'm from Mexico, yesterday I installed it and it runs 100%. I think I'm keeping this rom. Because when Telcel comes out, it will come with a bunch of quite useless operator apps.

On the other hand, the leak version had its own thing but it flowed quite slowly in mine. The thing that bothered me the most was the lock screen that would sometimes freeze.

In short I stay with this one. It comes well polished in terms of details

Everything works perfect for me .. I'm a little disappointed since the trial version brought more things but the new one is more stable… I was previously root so I wouldn't know how to answer you but I leave you a tutorial so that you can root it anyway to be more sure 😀 here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJWfy62viYI
in one part it indicates how to make it root xdd

You take I'm from Chile too and the room works great, this removes all the applications of the current operator and leaves your cell phone released

    5.    David Leon Jackson said

Yes, yes, if the signal fails, I live in Colombia and if it affects a little and the kies does not recognize the phone and second it works as a usb memory, it is advisable to leave the ics 4.0.4

I'm from Chile, update works fine, but at the beginning I get a message "enter network lock control key", which is this ... It is not the Pin or Puk. I just skip it and the team works.

    1.    Seba said

It is the key that the operator gives you so that the cell phone is unlocked, that is, so that the cell phone works with any company, enter the page where you acquired the cell phone, and do the process to unlock it by entering the IMEI, good luck. That should work, if not. occupy galaxy s2 sim from google play. look for more info about that app in google. greetings

A problem that I see that persists since the "beta" of Jelly Bean, is that sometimes the unlocking of the screens fails and does not work, it remains as if the touch does not work, it happens only sometimes, but it is very uncomfortable. Someone else happens? Any ideas to fix it?

    1.    Serpy said

You must first have a backup from the EFS before doing the upgrade.
After updating, delete the EFS from the root of the cell and replace it with the EFS before the update… that's it… reboot and that's it….
You can do this with the Root Explorer in RO mode.
      Salu2.

  27.   Edu said

guys be careful when updating, I had already happened with a beta. When I update, my phone is blocked again by network, I have a s2 of clear Argentina, unlocked by them because I switched to another company. when I install it the same thing happens to me. and it does not let me unlock it as per ics. The quick and simple solution GALAXSIM UNLOCK and x 2euros or 14 $ ARG is unlocked instantly. In case it happens to them and they don't want to deny

  28.   Ricardo said

I installed it the first time and it worked perfect, the only problem I have now is that when I want to install an application from Google Play Store, it starts the download normally, when it goes to 5% (or more%) it stops with an error that says « The package file is not valid. ' I have already tried to download several applications (WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram ...), and even some that I did not have before and I continue with the problem. I need help please, it's maddening.

  29.   Ricardo said

Hello, it was installed very well. The only problem I have is with the Google Play Store. When I try to download an application, the normal download starts, but there comes a point where it stops and I get an error: "The package file is not valid". I don't know what to do, I already restarted, I already made the wipes, reinstalled the rom, and nothing works. Help!

    1.    Carlos said

I solved everything by doing a wipe data, factory data 3 times and it no longer gave me any problem.

  30.   ezequiel said

I already did it but but when I turn on it asks me for the network unlocking pin, without that I would have a nice player. I saw out there and they throw several solutions, I could have lost my efs folder with imei included in the process (luckily I have a copy, after looking for it I had done one of pure luck a few months ago) or I could have lost my root when flashing a rom original and therefore the release (originally it was from another company). I don't know which way to go, how do I know if I lost my imei and I have to relocate the efs folder or it just unrooted and I have to root it back with the consequent re-liberation? luckily for me both situations have a solution. I need to know how I find out what my case is, thank you

For the sudacas, settle for the rice if you want updates, take off your Indian feathers and we let you enter Spain, but I notice here the wii U already exists so that you don't get scared coming from the supernintendo ... underdeveloped

    1.    Fa said

Underdeveloped??? Jajajja notice that I am from Chile and we are so underdeveloped here in South America that we give technical support to their operators !!! Vodafone… Orange and in my case for Jazztel, on a lucky day I meet a Spaniard who knows how to turn on the computer…. They do not know how to turn on a router and they call to make complaints because the wifi is not working ... gross!

    2.    jo0ohnY said

They think they are better because they are from the oldest continent and end up being the most outdated in the world, they no longer have anything, they are in crisis, your country has nothing, in fact I know friends who have lived there for years! and they returned because their situation is so shitty that it cannot be supported, Chile has one of the best economic bases in the world, so much so that we do not even feel the world crisis and that it is said that nobody has money and even so we all continue to burst on vacation and continue stable, and I support the other compatriot because without our support they would not have service!

  34.   Eduardo said

I have a question, I have the s2 but with an entel plan, I am from Chile. Will something happen when the mobile phone is released?

    1.    Juan said

I still have the same doubt, but taking my deductions I would not have why, since the plan has the chip and the number, so I will try

      1.    Eduardo said

Of course, as soon as I receive the s2 from the technical service, I update it to jelly bean, and also I don't think that problem will happen, I think the same as you, but I will ask the Entel branch about what happens when you release the mobile when you have a plan.

hello to all I want to tell you that this version is very beautiful but the bad thing is that it brings problems to load and sometimes it crashes or also when you are going to use it as a usb device your pc does not read it it is advisable to leave the ics 4.04 for now until that Problem solved saluos from Bogota Colombia

Hi, I'm from costar rica and we now have a company called ice, and I have an SGS2 and I still haven't received the update for jelly bean? Neither by ota nor by kies since it does not even recognize my phone? Would you like to know how long it will take to get the update? or does this come by region?

it keeps restarting over and over again, why is it? It has been like this for about 10 mins

I tried it but the truth was not very convincing, the wifi and 3g works well but at the time of using it after 5 minutes the battery had already lowered enough in addition to heating the cell phone just to configure it, I think I'd better stay with ics until that my operator get the official update, why say that the same rom jelly bean brings unnecessary things xD tested in Chile
