Samsung updates the Galaxy W and S with a hybrid between Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread

For the terminals, some with only a few months of life, that do not have the strength to pull with Ice Cream Sandwich, Samsung created a value pack that mixes some details of Android 4.0.x based on the Gingerbread operating system. It is not everything one would want but it is all that can be, at least according to Samsung.

For a few hours, the Samsung Galaxy W and S sold in Europe are starting to receive this value pack. According to the people of SamMobile, the Galaxy S i9000 in Korea and Europe are already beginning to receive the official update. With the value pack, the terminals will go faster. They have some Ice Cream Sandwich details adapted to the Galaxy S, such as the facial lock (facelock) or and several improvements in the official launcher, TouchWiz. The package is based on Android 2.3.6.

As they well remember in SamMobile, the Galaxy S has become the Samsung terminal with more updates. It came out with Eclair (Android 2.1), then went up to Froyo (Android 2.2), followed later with Gingerbread and now it will carry this Android 2.3.6 but improved with some ICS details.

The value pack update is also coming to the Samsung Galaxy W i8150 in Europe. They have started in Slovakia and Romania, but it will not take long to reach Spain.

Among the latests Moravia's compositions new arrivals that will appear again on face lock, the ability to take pictures from the camera icon while video is being recorded, or the option to resize fonts.

Other terminals that cannot with Ice Cream Sandwich and will receive this hybrid are the Galaxy S Plus, the Galaxy U and the Galaxy Tab P1000. As a user of one of them, I will tell you all the details as soon as I receive it. For those who are not enough, they have the option of looking for a ROM with ICS. Alternative developers do maintain that, at least for hardware, these terminals can with the latest Android.

I do not understand, the reason why Samsung says that the terminals are not compatible with ICS .. if it could not there would not be Cyanogenmod 9 just to give an example .. I have a Galaxy Gio, and I have Cyanodenmod 9 in its beta 6 It uses ICS 4.0.4, and the operation is totally fluid. there are still details to be polished, but it is still a beta ..
