It seems that the Japanese company continues with its project to manufacture waterproof and dust-resistant smartphones following the legacy of the Sony Xperia Z, because according to the media specialized in Sony Xperia devices, Xperia Blog, a new terminal is coming that stands out for offering such a feature that is gaining so much success among users. Responds to the name of Sony Xperia ZR and it consists of a high-end terminal that would not take long to arrive.
The first smartphones to boast resistance to water and dust appeared together just a few months ago, at the beginning of this year. These were the Xperia Z and the Xperia ZL, and although it seemed that the Z series would end there, Sony returns to surprise us with a new member of the family that comes to inherit the resistance standards. This time it will respond to the name of sony xperia zr, to the internal name of Dogo and to the code C550X; and the best: it will be certified with the resistance standard IP55 or IP58, a figure that is still unconfirmed but that would make a big difference in terms of the strength of the terminal in front of the water. The IP58 standard is more resistant than the IP57 (which certifies the Sony Xperia Z), and this in turn is more resistant than the IP56 and IP55. So we must wait for confirmation from Sony to know the levels of water resistance that will characterize this terminal.

Regarding the internal memory, it will have 8 GB expandable via microSD. In this sense, it reduces the storage compared to its older brothers who had 16 GB. They have not communicated any data regarding their operating system, but they have reported on the battery, which will have 2300 mAh, somewhat smaller than those of the first «Zetas».
