Surprise: Android version 4.4.2 arrives on the Nexus 7, 5 and 4

The truth is that it has arrived completely unexpectedly, but the truth is that a new update of the Google operating system has begun to be deployed for Nexus devices (7, 5 and 4 specifically). This is the Android 4.4.2 and the terminals in Spain are already beginning to receive it via OTA.

The truth is, it's only been a few days since 4.4.1 started rolling out, and therefore the new firmware is even more surprising if possible. The fact is that the new ROM is called KOT49H and, for now, there is no information on the version changes (changelog), so no comparisons can be made at the moment.

The Android 4.4.2 update is, therefore, a reality and the size of the download file is 54 MB, so incremental improvements and some bug fixes are to be expected. In this way, no big news should be expected with the new firmware. By the way, and as you can see below, the icon that appears when you click on the number of the new version remains.

Files can be obtained independently

But here the surprises do not end, since apart from being able to receive the update via OTA (Over The Air) -that is to say directly in the terminals-, there are also independent links to download the specific files for each of the terminals that are already in the game, which is something unexpected but indicative that this move by Google is not impulsive. These are the links for each of them:

  • Nexus 7 (2013)
  • Nexus 5
  • Nexus 4

In short, there is already the new Android version 4.4.2 and, in addition, it is the starting point in our country (at least for the Nexus 4). Now it's time to check what this update offers and, thus, know that has led to Google to launch a new firmware a few days after the previous one was sent to the terminals.

You're right. I have a samsung galaxy s3 and what a shame in company, starting on December 10 and I am still with version 4.1.2 of android waiting for version 4.3 to be released this week once and for all

Samsung to put the batteries once and for all or you will remain in the queue of the world in terms of updates to the android operating system. Hurry up once and for all or people will buy another brand of mobile.

Regarding updates, I am increasingly unhappy with Samsung.
From comments, people who have a nexu mobile are super happy with that brand and have the luxury of updates the same day they come out, which is a great advantage.

All these manufacturers that mount Android on their terminals have to offer better updates in a timely manner ... many people will leave the brand for not receiving support and it seems that these people do not realize that the customer is right and that they are demanding the latest android versions! It is unforgivable that Samsung has the s3 so outdated being its flagship last year and this will take its toll on them and if not time to time
