ThatsaPC, use WhatsApp on your PC without having to emulate Android

Until now, to get to run somehow WhatsApp from our PCWe had to install an Android emulator to run WhatsApp from a virtual machine and also get a virtual phone number like Fonyou. Well, a group of developers has managed to run WhatsApp on a PC without having to emulate the system. The name of the utility is ThatsaPC, and then we tell you the steps necessary for its installation.

Our friends from Redes Zone have managed to get hold of this process to make life easier for those of us who spend the most hours in front of the computer screen. And the thing is that switching from the computer to the mobile and vice versa depending on the channel that people use to contact us, it can become very heavy. For this comes ThatsaPC, the WhatsApp that will be installed on our PC without the need for emulators. We leave you a video below that demonstrates how it works.

ThatsaPC can already run so much in Windows as in Linux (32 and 64 bits), and it is already available for download, although according to its creators they still consider that it is in the alpha phase, so they will be uploading the improved versions with functions progressively added to their website. One of the advantages of the program is that, by asking us for the IMEIFrom our phone, the WhatsApp servers will not ban our account as they did with emulators.

As ThatsaPC offers us so far without the following functions:

  • Conversations that run smoothly
  • · A simple and fast interface that at the moment allows us to connect and add contacts
  • Nick and status support
  • · Save our contacts on the PC so we don't have to import them every time we open ThatsaPC

Install ThatsaPC on a Windows computer

To install ThatsaPC we must go to its page main web and at the top, click on Download Thatsa PC. It is important to note that the program can be installed as "portable", that is, from a hard disk, a Pen Drive, etc. instead of installing it on our computer. But this is up to the user.

We click on «The downloads can be found in», or if we see the page in English in «“You can get download links here”, And we choose our download option.

The file that we will download to install ThatsaPC on Windows will be a .zip that we will have to unzip. Once unzipped we will see the following files:

Now we must double click on the file called "thatsapc”And then, the login screen will appear.

ThatsaPC asks us for the nickname that we are going to use, the prefix of our country, which in our Spanish case will be +34, our telephone number, and attention to the most important or advantageous of this program: asks us for the IMEI of our phone. It is thanks to this that ThatsaPC don't get banned by WhatsApp as it happened in the emulators, since this way they cannot detect that it is an application for PC, but it will seem that we have installed it in another phone.

Once we login, we will see the ThatsaPC screen completely empty. So what we have to do is add our contacts. To do this, click on «menu» and «add contact«. Now we will see a window where we will enter the nickname, the prefix and the telephone number of the person with whom we want to speak.

We can start talking with this person in real time, and without having to use your mobile to contact them through WhatsApp. The interface will now look like this.

It is done. We can use WhatsApp on our PC. Give it a try and let us know how you see it, bearing in mind that it is an alpha phase program whose programmers still have a lot to do.
