The Exynos 8890 processor that will be part of the Samsung Galaxy S7 is now official

There is still a while for the Samsung Galaxy S7 to reach the market, everything points to the month of February 2016 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (bet on the Day 21 not a bad option), but the rumors about this device are already many and some consistent. The fact is that there is a specific piece of information that has just been known and that talks about one of the essential components that will be part of the new phone of the Korean company: the new processor Exynos 8890.

This is the model that is expected to be from the game in the Samsung Galaxy S7, and that has been officially announced by the manufacturer. In this way, one can speculate on the power that the new Samsung flagship will offer. And it is that, due to the power that it will offer and being a certainly outstanding component, it is not to be expected that it will be included in another product range that is not the best of the company.

The fact is that with the Exynos 8890 we seek to compete face to face with the Snapdragon 820, and everything indicates that this will be the case since this SoC offers very interesting features that confirm the good work that Koreans do in this market segment lately. In this way, the component comes with compatibility with 64-bit architecture, how could it be otherwise, and with a 14 nanometer fabrication technology (FinFET). Thus, on the one hand, there is the virtue of including more transistors to increase power and, on the other, that the heat control is much better.

More wood

The cores are redesigned by Samsung itself in four of them, using technology ARMv8, so we must wait for interesting news in its operation. The fact is that according to the company, they are capable of consuming 10% less energy to offer thirty percent more power -always compared to the previous Exynos 7 Octa-. The four "cores" that are integrated and that are to say it in some way "common", use an architecture ARM Coretex-A53, which are combined with the previous ones using big.LITTLE technology.

The GPU built into the Exynos 8890 is the Mali-T880, so great things should be expected in the graphic section when operating the Samsung Galaxy S7. We will see if it is positioned as the best in the market or not here. A detail to know is that a modem is integrated in the SoC LTE compatible with Cat. 12 and 13, so reaching downloads of up to 600 Mbps (and uploads of 150 Mbps) is not a pipe dream.

Improving games with Exynos 8890

Start of production

According to the company itself, production will begin in the month of December of this year 2015, so the Exynos 8890 would arrive perfectly in time to be of the game in the Samsung Galaxy S7. Of course, from now on when you see a performance test with this processor, we already know in which terminal it is integrated, don't you think?
