Free Galaxy Nexus receive an update that fixes signal problems

At the end of March, the latest version of Ice Cream Sandwich began to reach the Galaxy Nexus. Only a few days later, some users claimed that their mobiles suffered sudden losses of signal. Now, Android developers have just released a new version that fixes these problems.

This is not a big update. In fact, the new system is still Android 4.0.4 that we have installed. It is a new build with the number IMM76I, compared to the current IMM76D. The distribution via OTA (directly to the terminal) began this weekend and presumably it will take a few days to reach all the Galaxy Nexus.

As there is no official announcement with the changes, we must pay attention to the users who have already received it. They say that their occasional signal loss problems, which prevented them from making or receiving calls, appear to have disappeared. It might also have fixed some intermittent screen locks. The 700 KB that the new build occupies may hide other news. If you notice any changes, let us know in the comments.

Those who do not want to wait for their turn to come can install the update manually. Remember that this new version of the compilation is only intended for free Galaxy Nexus. The terminal must be rooted to have administrator privileges. If it isn't, wait for the official update. Neither can those who have replaced the original recovery with ClockworkMod Recovery install it. Although knowing how its creators work, it will not be many hours until they have adapted it.

The process is not very complicated but, if you are not an advanced user accustomed to tinkering with the mobile settings, it is best to wait for the update to arrive automatically.

Well the truth is that mine is from Vodafone, and I have received the update. I also want to say that I am one of the lucky ones who did not have any kind of problem with the terminal, or coverage or anything. Simply the mobile was great and continues the same.
    regards

Thanks for the gesture. We thought it was only for the free.

I have a free one and it does not receive 4.0.4 even by chance, although I force it to look for updates. 😕
