The Motorola Moto G 2013 will finally update to Android 5.0 Lollipop

Motorola Moto G Cover

Very little time is what we will have to wait to be able to update the Motorola Moto G 2013. Given that the smartphone was one of the best sellers two years ago, and is one of the most successful in recent years, the fact that the update is going to be released is something that many users will like. It has been confirmed by Motorola Spain.

Motorola has announced on several occasions that the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop was going to reach its different smartphones. However, for various reasons in the end it has not been released. It is true that it seemed that the first versions of Lollipop arrived with relevant errors, but even so, the fact that the update took so long did not leave a great impression. So how much credibility does the news now have that Android 5.0 Lollipop will officially reach the Motorola Moto G 2013? Basically, it has been Motorola Spain, through its Twitter account, as reported by our colleagues from another blog, which has confirmed that they have been informed that the update for this smartphone should arrive next week.

How to update?

First of all, it should be mentioned that not all versions will update at the same time probably. Thus, if you have a Motorola Moto G bought free, and not through any operator, this will probably be the first to update, before the others. If you purchased your smartphone through an operator, then you will have to wait, as it has a version of the operating system customized by the operator, and it may still take a little longer, with a maximum time of a couple of weeks . The easiest way to update your smartphone is to wait for a notification on the smartphone informing us that there is an update available and that this is the new version. Then it will only be necessary to have the recommended battery level for the update and a connection to a WiFi network to download the update, which will probably be heavy. On the other hand, you can go directly to Settings> About phone> Software update, and see there if there is already an update available or not. Of course, here at Android Ayuda You will be able to be aware of when the first users begin to receive the update, one of the most anticipated due to the number of users who have the Motorola Moto G 2013.

About a month ago, the 2013 motogs got an update called "motorola update", which they say is necessary to be able to update to lollipop. I have read on various sites that when the 2013 motog is updated, so will the one with 4g.
I have a moto g 4g and when I try to download the »motorola update» application that I said before, it says that my version is not compatible. This means that in 4g it is not necessary to install this application, or that the motog 4g will take longer to update to lollipop, until it is possible to install that application.
PD moto g 4g version xt1039. I wait for an answer, thank you.

I do not believe anything, they have been saying the same for months

They haven't been saying the same thing for months. There is just a lot of idiot who spreads rumors about the update without Motorola having confirmed any date.

I'm from Argentina, I installed Lollipop 4.0.2, through a tutorial. I didn't have to root, or change the recovery, or unlock the bootloader. My warranty is still intact and the updates via OTA will continue to arrive. And best of all, it works perfectly. Very easy to install.

I have been using Retail Brazil version 5.0.2 for about a week. The battery holds a bit longer than in Kit Kat, and in terms of battery life, this terminal satisfies me quite a bit. The fluidity is similar, perhaps a little better than in Kit Kat (I must say that I have the official version but optimized, without Motorola or Google apps). The first impression was good, but the ones I had in the following days (and until today that I post this comment from my terminal) were better, both visual and functional. The truth is that I will change the Brazilian version to the European one as soon as it is released. I am quite happy with the change and the operation is similar to the previous version.
