The Samsung Galaxy Gear will be compatible with S4, Note 2, S3 ...

Samsung has officially confirmed the long-awaited news about its new smartwatch, the Samsung Galaxy Gear. And it is that, not only will it be compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but now it can also be managed from other smartphones. In total, it will be compatible with eight other Samsung devices, but at the end of October.

Among the smartphones that will become compatible with the smart watch, we find the best known of the company, and it was already surprising that they were not compatible before. We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy S4, which was launched just a few months ago; the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which was the previous high-end smartphone the company had launched; and the Samsung Galaxy S3, the previous flagship, which was presented last year 2012. However, these are only three of the new ones that will become compatible with the watch.

And, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, will also be used as the main smartphone to which the Galaxy Gear is connected. Some of these are surprising because they are not high-end, as is the case with the Galaxy S4 Mini, which is good news, since it will not have been essential to buy the most expensive Galaxy in order to buy and use the Galaxy Gear. For its part, there will be two others that will also be compatible with the new watch, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3. These two are the smartphones with a large screen that the company launched without becoming high-end.

Compatibility with these smartphones will begin at the end of this month, and everything will be as a result of the launch of the update to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for them, which will allow the use of the Bluetooth 4.0 protocol, which is the one used by the smart watch. However, the truth is that it is only indicated that the updates will begin at the end of this month, so some, in the case of a smartphone, could take longer than expected.
