We had been talking for several weeks about what could be the new Sony devices, two new Xperia that would be included within the new generation of upper-middle range, and among which would be the Sony Xperia SP and Sony Xperia L. Today the company has officially confirmed these two smartphones, along with their technical specifications. The most remarkable of all is the Sony Xperia SP, which has the highest-level features of these two.

First of all, we start by talking about the multimedia aspects of this new device. The screen of the Sony Xperia SP is 4,6 inches, and it is high definition, although it is not Full HD, thus remaining in a resolution of 720p. However, it has Reality Display technology and the Bravia Engine 2, so it can be assured that the image quality is good. And we cannot say less about the camera it carries, something common in Sony devices. And, in this case we are talking about an eight megapixel sensor, and it is not just any sensor, but the new and exclusive Exmor RS for mobile devices, which is only present in the Xperia, until a few months pass. In addition, it has HDR mode in video, and Superior Auto mode, which optimizes the camera settings to take the best photos depending on the conditions.

As for its processor, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro dual-core, capable of reaching a clock frequency of 1,7 GHz. No official data of the device's RAM memory is specified, although we do know that it has an internal memory of 8 GB, expandable via microSD card. Regarding its connectivity options, it has WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC and LTE. A 2.370 mAh battery will give a good autonomy to the mobile, which also has the STAMINA mode to optimize energy consumption.

Its design is in line with the Xperia that have been launched in recent months. For starters, it has a molded aluminum frame, a material used by the company in all devices starting from the upper-middle range. To this should be added the transparent notification bar, which is customizable so that it changes color when receiving calls and messages.

El Sony Xperia SP It will be available from the second quarter of 2013, so it will soon be on sale in stores. We will have to wait a bit, at least, to know the official price of this new device from the company, which will come in three colors: white, black and red.
