The Sony Xperia Z1 will have a more expensive price in Spain than in Germany

Why? As Mourinho would say. Because the Sony Xperia Z1 will it be more expensive in Spain than in Germany? It is not the first time this has happened with a device from the Japanese brand. In this case, yes, it seems that Germany will be the exception, where it will be cheaper. In the UK, it will also be even more expensive.

In the German country they will be lucky with the launch of the new Sony Xperia Z1, since they will be able to buy it cheaper. Specifically, the sale price of the smartphone in Germany will be 680 euros, while in Spain it will be 700 euros. But no, Spain will not be the only country where we will buy the new most expensive Japanese smartphone, but Italy, France and the Netherlands join the list of countries where the phone can be bought for more money. In the case of the United Kingdom, it is the same, although the situation is still different, since its price would go to 712 euros. However, this is due to the currency exchange, so a direct comparison cannot be made.

We know, although we do not understand, that price conversions from the United States to Europe are always somewhat unfair, since normally the amount is truncated directly, without making a price conversion, so we pay the same amount of euros as that paid by the Americans in dollars. The change of currency and region could still somehow justify that the price is, in quotes, so unfair. But the same is not the case for the whole of Europe. It makes no sense that a region that has always shared the same prices now undergoes a differentiation. Why is it cheaper in Germany than in Spain? There is no logical reason to explain why in the German country it is cheaper, when we share a currency and can be considered from the same region. In fact, it will be possible to buy the smartphone in Germany and have it sent to Spain. What's more, it will probably be cheaper to buy the Sony Xperia Z1 from Amazon Germany and pay a few euros for shipping. Not that the final difference is very relevant, but that is neither more nor less than a greater reason for the price to be the same throughout the European region. At least, in all that uses the same currency.

    Taxes maybe?

Man, you don't have to be an economist to see that there is a difference between a 19% VAT in Germany and a 21% VAT in Spain. If there are more taxes then logically the final price will be higher
