Who are more social, Android users or iOS users?

The answer to the question we ask in this post will always be totally subjective. The first thing we think of is that iOS users are antisocial by nature, because they don't fit in with society. Outside of jokes, the only way to be objective in this case is to try to analyze the use made by both groups of users, those of Android and those of iOS, of the different applications and social services, such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Pinterest, etc. A company has done it, and has created an infographic with all the data they have obtained.

The truth is that it is difficult to tell from this infographic which of the two user groups is more social. Be that as it may, it does provide us with interesting data so that we can take some things into account when discussing. For example, it took Instagram a month since it was launched for iOS to reach five million users. While it took just a week to reach the same number of users for the version of the operating system Android. However, it must be emphasized that when it was released for Android, there were already many users who knew it and were waiting for it to be launched to download it, something that did not happen with iOS since it was relatively unknown at that time.

This detail is more objective. The Facebook application for Android receives 36.771.000 visits from users, while that of iOS, in the same period, obtained 26.148.000 visits. Here we do have a clear difference, and that the Android application leaves a lot to be desired.

If we talk about Twitter, we also obtain interesting data, such as that the Android It ranks number 13 by Mountain View OS users, while iOS fans rank 30.

Finally, it should be noted that the most downloaded free applications for Android are Gmail, Google Maps, Street View and Youtube, while those for iOS are Youtube, InstaMessage, Temple Run, Gems with Friends and Space Effect FX. We observe a clear social inclination in Android users.

The reason that users Android Tending to be more social may be related to the fact that many iOS users belong to a sector of society that does not participate so much in social networks, but rather makes a more professional use of it. We leave you the infographic in case you want to consult it.

The Instagram comparison is meaningless. First, that when iOS, Instagram was unknown, in fact it grew just because of iOS, while with Android everyone already knew it. Second, if anything, the increases per month of each would have to be counted. As for Twitter and Facebook, as it says there, they are integrated into iOS, so a direct comparison cannot be made either. It seems to me that only the companies themselves could release representative statistical data that could then be interpolated with the total number of users of each system.
